community of professional staff and fellow participants. Our program
combines effective aspects of mental health and addiction treatment
with the emerging spiritual psychologies that view our symptoms, not
as pathology, but as birthing a new consciousness.
Psychospiritual therapies are designed to open the unconscious mind
to release old patterns and access our greater Self. The therapies
include Integrative Breathwork, shadow work, psychodrama, expressive
artwork, myth and story, movement and play, guided imagery and
journal work. To strengthen our practice of healthy habits, daily
yoga classes, bodywork, meditation, nature outings and nutritional
counseling are offered. Optional Twelve-step meetings are also
included.

10th Annual Steps to Awareness Festival
San Juan Mountains
Telluride, Colorado, USA
May 29 - June 1, 1997
We are on the threshold of great problems in our society and in our world.
To meet these challenges, most of all, we need to awaken and empower
ourselves. In order to heal this planet, we must first heal ourselves and
make ourselves whole: physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually.
The Step to Awareness Festival will bring together many diverse ideas and
experiences in a variety of presentations, workshops, panels and experiential
events to explore the wisdom and practice of healing, of ourselves and our
planet. It is a forum of educators, scientists, philosophers, and practitioners
of spiritual, transformational and healing arts who gather and share their
wisdom and skills, to heal and expand consciousness. It will assemble some
of the most skilled and knowledgable people in their fields, many nationally
and internationally known. This year we will explore the multi-dimensions of
self, of reality, and of healing: our bodies, our relationships, our
environment, and our separation. Modern and ancient healing arts, therapies
and alternative modalities from both eastern and western traditions will be
examined from natural vibrational medicine, nutrition to bio-energetics and
subtle energies. We will plumb the depths of both ancient and revealed
teachings of human growth, transformation and enlightenment, of wholeing the
self, to understand the sacredness of self, all life and the earth itself. All
Things are Connected. As above, so below. As we heal ourselves we heal our
planet.
