Below is a list of some athletes who practice yoga based on statements in published
articles and news reports. Please keep the following in mind when reading through the
list:
- This list likely represents only a small portion of athletes who practice yoga
regularly. Most articles do not get into much detail about an athlete's training
regimen. This is especially true for sports that do not get much media coverage
(except game recaps).
- In some cases, a whole team practices yoga. When a whole team is listed as taking
yoga classes, it usually means that all of the players on the team are taking yoga
classes.
- Next to each name are one or more links to an online version of an article where
it was mentioned (in some part of the article)
that the athlete practices some form of yoga. Many of the links
may be active, but with the transient nature of articles on the web, it is likely that
some of the articles and links may have been moved or removed from the web.
- Finally, yoga is not the only tool for improving athletic performance and preventing
injury. However, it is becoming an increasingly popular tool amongst athletes.
