New Zealand Couple Wins Freedom of Healthcare Choice and Heals Child's Cancer
With Alternative Techniques
All court order demanding that the parents of cancer patient Liam
Williams-Holloway be turned over to the hospital for chemotherapy
were cancelled on May 6, 1999 in Family Court in Dunedin, New Zealand.
The parents had believed that chemotherapy for their child was too risky
and were forced to elude a massive manhunt to pursue alternative treatment.
The case, which captivated New Zealand, led to the temporary ban on articles
about Liam Williams-Holloway and involved many court hearings. The ruling
in Family Court allowed Liam's parents to come out of hiding. In addition,
it appears that Liam's treatment by "Quantum Vibrational Therapists" (using
multiple techniques and lifestyle changes) was successful and Liam no longer
has any cancer.

Night Lights are Found to Cause Nearsightedness in Children
Knight Ridder News Service (Excerpt)
A connection has been found between the use of night lights in young children's
rooms and subsequent eyesight problems, according to a study released
yesterday. Based on a survey of parents of 479 healthy, 2- to 16-year-old
patients at Children's Hopistal of Philadelphia's ophthalmology
department, the researchers found that only 10 percent of children who had
slept in darkness before age two were nearsighted, or myopic. But of those
who had slept with a night light, 34 percent were nearsighted, while 55
percent of those who had slept in infancy with a regular room light had the
problem.
The researchers believe that full darkness may be needed every day to allow
for proper eye growth. While this study, by itself, does not completely prove
the connection, the researchers recommended that young children sleep in
dark rooms. [The research was published in the scientific journal, "Nature".]

Canadian Dental Association Consultant Condemns Fluoridation as a Potential Health Hazard
Dr. Hardy Limeback a leading Canadian dental authority joined a quickly-growing
list of expert condemning the use of fluoridated water as a health hazard.
Less than two years after U.S. Environmental Protection Agency scientists
took a unanimous stand against the use of fluoride (see
http://www.holisticmed.com/news/news1997.html#106), Dr. Limeback
conceded in an
interview (see web link) that research shows that fluoride may be
destroying our bones, teech, and our overall health.
The earliest visible symptom of fluoride poisoning
are off-white and brown spots on the teeth which are the beginning stages
of dental fluorosis. Dr. Limeback says that most of the children he
treats has this early sign of fluoride's effects. Dr. Limeback warned
parents about the use of fluoride in an interview:
"Children under three should never use fluoridated toothpaste. Or drink
fluoridated water. And baby formula must never be made up using Toronto
tap water. Never."
Dr. Limeback points out that half of the ingested fluoride never leaves
the body. (Fluoride is ingested from fluoridated water, prepared drinks
made with fluoridated water, boned chicken, and a variety of non-organic
foods grown with pesticides that contain fluoride. Fluoride exposure can
also be significant from fluoridated drugs such as some antidepressants.)
Finally, Dr. Limeback agrees with all of the recent evidence showing that
fluoridated water does not help prevent cavaties:
"There is no point swallowing fluoridated water. The
only benefit comes with direct contact with the teeth."
More information about fluoride toxicity and avoiding fluoride can be found on
the Fluoride/Fluoridation Web
Page, the presentation by the world's foremost fluoride expert,
Dr. Phyllis Mullinex.

is a web page for general dental
health resources.
